"EPISODE TWO (2)"
My mum and I worked so hard to make ends meet.
Let me tell u the kind of job we were doing:
Every morning,
some guys would supply empty sachets of water for us (usually called pure water leather in Nigeria).
We do buy these sachets @ a low price & sell at a higher price to a factory close to our house.
This factory has machines capable of recycling the sachets and producing very large sachets which could be used as canopy.
The stressful part of the job is that these sachets have to be torn open in order to drain off the water hanging inside otherwise the machines won't be able to recycle it.
We earned very little profit from this business but mum knows how to manage.
Now on this fateful day,
mum had spent all the money she had on her to buy foodstuffs at home.
The guys who usually supply the sachets for us had refused to give it out on credit.
By this time, I was already 14.
An idea crossed my mind;
without letting my mum know,
I got a sack from the house,
went to the street and started picking empty sachets of water.
I knew mum won't permit me if I took permision to go pick empty sachets of water from the streets so I didn't let her know.
It took me some hours...
but I was able to fill the sack anyway.
On my way home, I noticed a scene;
two guys of about the age of 18 were dragging a female student into the bush.
The guys seized her school bag.
She was begging them to let her go but they refused.
I quickly dropped my sack full of sachets of water.
"Let go of her!" I yelled from a far.
They stopped abruptly and I walked up to them.
They laughed and were coming for me.
"Why would u want to drink medicine for another person's headache?" one of them said.
B4 I knew it, he bounced on me. He pressed my neck tight.
"I am going to end ur miserable life!" he told me.
I had never been that angry scared in my life.
He may have ended my life if I didn't do what I did.
I put my fingers deep into his eye balls and he let go of me.
I got a big wood and ran after the other guy. He had dragged the helpless girl into the bush and was forcefully pulling out her uniform.
He didn't notice I was standing at his back.
With the wood in my hand, I hit him so hard on his back.
I hit him again.
I hit him again.
Again and again.
